Santa Marta is a city on the northern coast of Colombia beside the beautiful Caribbean Sea. It is one of Colombia’s most popular tourist locations with its major port, archeology, and beautiful beaches. It is also a starting point for the (in)famous trek to Ciudad Perdida (Lost City)— a legendary five-to-six-day trek through the dense jungle of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Click HERE to see if you would like to try it!
Within the city is Colegio Cristiano Integral de Santa Marta, a bilingual, internationally accredited Christian school offering “comprehensive training based on Christ-centered principles and values, with high academic demand.” Their official educational purpose is, “forming with the character of Christ.” Many of its students come from affluent families.
You may be surprised to learn that within this wonderful school several dozen high school students are studying our LOGOI course books.
It began, however, with a rather auspicious start back in 2018. The high school principal discovered LOGOI and felt some of our Bible courses would be of great value to her students; especially our courses on How to Study the Bible, Essential Truths of the Bible, and our Apologetics courses. She enthusiastically contacted us and soon two dozen or so of their students were enrolled in our Bible school. We were excited! Until they all failed.
We were certain that would be the end of that, but the principal contacted us again to re-enroll all the students. “This is not acceptable,” she explained, and went on to say that, though her students could be lazy and spoiled, this was too important to let slide by. “Every one of these students must retake LOGOI’s Bible course until they pass,” she said. (We really like this principal!)
Today, through this high school principal, we are thrilled to report God has given LOGOI 83 high school Bible students! All of them are on target to receive our Essential Christianity Bible Certificate.
Will you take a moment right now to pray and thank the Lord for our LOGOI high school students in Colombia — and their principal? How will the Lord use these young men and women of privilege in the days ahead? Only the Lord knows, but we are thrilled to be a part of their journey and thank you for being a part of our LOGOI family.
Your gifts are used to help train and equip national missionaries like Colegio Cristiano Integral to help proclaim the Gospel and make disciples all over the Spanish speaking world. Now you know a little more about one of them.
