It’s a bit strange for us to think of a radio station broadcasting part of its signal into the jungles of Peru. But radiolatinasisa.com has been serving the people of El Dorado, or doradinos (golden) and those living in the jungle for over 22 years.
Juan Luis Vasquez Mora is one of LOGOI’s Five Dollar National Missionaries serving in Peru. He’s happily married to Glenni Kitty Arévalo Vasquez (they have a son and a daughter) and lives and works in San Martin, a northern province situated along the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. In ancient days, this territory was part of the vast Inca empire and, who knows, maybe the mythical El Dorado empire and fortune are yet to be discovered in ‘golden’ jungle.
Juan is the Director of the radio program Tiempo Futuro (Future Time) where he joyfully proclaims the Word of God to their listeners. Radiolatinasisa is a secular radio station but provides various slots throughout its programing for “religious” broadcasts. Juan is taking full advantage of this opportunity every week. He says, “We want to reach those who do not know Christ as their Savior and also build up believers in the body of Christ.”
Tiempo Futuro features Bible lessons, praise music, and preaching from different local pastors. He has recently discovered LOGOI but has already begun adapting what he is learning to the radio airwaves. “Thank you for these wonderful resources,” he wrote, “we need fresh words for the life for our listeners as well as for us.”
We’re very excited to introduce Juan to the preaching and teaching of LOGOI’s Founder, the late Dr. Les Thompson. In the very near future, we hope Doradinos will get to hear Les’ voice proclaiming the Gospel with some of our recorded messages.
