As we prepare this update, Mexico is about to face off against Ecuador in the FIFA World Cup games in Mexico City. The atmosphere across the entire country of Mexico is being described as “electric, a nationwide party with street festivals, mariachi bands, viral fan interactions, and unwavering support of ‘El Tri.' We’ll be watching…perhaps you as well.
Roughly 60 miles from Mexico City is the city of Jiutepec with roughly 214,000 residents which makes it the second largest city in the state of Morelos. It’s “Jiutepec” name comes from the Nahuatl language which traces back to the ancient Aztecs. It means, “The precious stone hill.”
One of our favorite “Stone Hill” residents is Luz Maria Ramirez. She is an amazing Sunday School teacher and part of Child Evangelism Fellowship (Alianza Pro Evangelización Del Niño) ministry. “I love teaching at all levels,” Luz says. “I love leading prayer meetings and organizing events of all kinds.” Then with a very determined mindset she explains, “With all the excitement of the World Cup, we have been training dozens of people for evangelism to children from different churches. These are very exciting days.”

“I am the 9th of 11 children,” Luz explains, “and due to the expense of maintaining such a large family, I left with my older sister to live with our grandmother over 1,200 miles away. The 6 years I lived there, however, were very happy years because I found in my Uncle Roberto the figure of a loving father who laid the foundations for having great trust in God’s love and he helped lay the foundation for my faith.”
Luz is also the very happy recipient of some of Grandma Carolyn’s care packages of clothing and toys for children in need. She very recently received a package of some 100 items and said, “I go from surprise to surprise with you; and that makes me very happy and raise my hands in worship to God. God blesses us in inexplicable ways to bless our life and ministry and give us encouragement. There is no doubt that God has in you and the Logoi ministry a strength to give to the servants of the Lord.”
Regarding LOGOI, Luz says, “I have been blessed because your books are so good. I have studied some of them via Third Millennium Seminary (a powerful ministry LOGOI has partnered with for many years). Your LOGOI materials continue to contribute to my spiritual growth and we always recommend them.”

What great joy to partner with Luz and her ministry. Her enthusiasm for serving the Lord is vibrant and contagious. Would you take a moment and pray for Luz right now? Specifically she asks for prayer for her husband facing a battle with cancer and that her two children and her grandchildren will all come to a saving faith in Jesus. She also asks that we join her in prayer for the opportunity to acquire a campsite to support the needs of the churches in their community.
