Cristian A. Morales Soto - Puente Alto, Chile

Puente Alto is located almost in the middle of the roughly 2,700 mile long country of Chile. Located on the southwestern coast of South America, Chile is the longest country in the world and one of the narrowest with an average width of only 110 miles. In this wonderfully diverse “slim” country, you’ll find a desert in the north and glaciers in the south. Puente Alto is considered the “Mosaic Capital of Latin America” and is internationally renowned for its premium Cabernet Sauvignon.

Living in this “skinny” city of Puente Alto is our Missionary of the Month, Pastor Cristian Alejandro Morales Soto. Cristian has been a pastor for 35 years and we love how he introduces himself saying, “The Lord called me when I was 20 years old and I have served him without any interruptions ever since.” He goes on to explain that he was finishing his university studies in graphic design when “God captured my attention and revolutionized my life.” He is married with four adult children and came to Puente Alto back in 2007 to plant a church.

In 2012, Cristian suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke that left him, as he somberly states, “on the verge of death.” His recovery was long and difficult and left him disabled on the right side of his body including his hand and foot. There should be no surprise that his stroke only temporarily paused his ministry and outreach.

“I am a teaching pastor and member of the Chilean Presbyterian Church and my focus is on evangelism and church planting. It is my passion to boldly and joyfully proclaim the Gospel. What a blessing that this is my full-time work.”

One of Cristian’s first introductions to preaching, teaching, and studying God’s Word was with LOGOI’s Bible courses and resources. “Ever since I have known the Lord, I have read the LOGOI books and courses and participated in your seminars. Today, I am so grateful for your online Bible resources which I use almost daily to prepare Bible studies for my teaching as well as my personal life.” Hearing this from Cristian gives us a glimpse of how the Lord is using the ministry of LOGOI and makes our hearts swell with thankfulness and joy.

Cristian goes on to explain that his future plans are to earn his doctorate in theology. He is now studying Greek and Hebrew in preparation for his doctorate degree. He then quickly goes on to say, “but far more importantly, I want the people in my community and beyond to know Jesus. That is why I have dedicated myself to planting churches and sharing the Gospel in new communities as God opens doors."

Would you take a moment right now and pray for Cristian? In particular he asks that God will give him the strength and holiness to faithfully carry the Gospel to all who will hear through whatever means he gives.

Thank you for being a partner with us at LOGOI through your prayers and gifts as we help and encourage God’s ambassadors throughout the Spanish world.
